Pelo balan\u00e7o, houve uma queda no n\u00famero de homic\u00eddios registrados na regi\u00e3o dos 12 munic\u00edpios. Em 2017 foram 107 homic\u00eddios contra 90 em 2018, um decr\u00e9scimo de 15,9% nestes casos, o menor n\u00famero da d\u00e9cada, segundo a PM. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Para o tenente coronel Fausto Machado, as a\u00e7\u00f5es da PM impactaram positivamente na diminui\u00e7\u00e3o do n\u00famero de homic\u00eddios na regi\u00e3o. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u201cA instala\u00e7\u00e3o das oito bases de seguran\u00e7a comunit\u00e1ria, as 16 motos, implementando o policiamento em diversos setores, o incremento do policiamento nos aglomerados onde h\u00e1 conflitos entre gangues juvenis, a atua\u00e7\u00e3o da intelig\u00eancia policial, todo esse conjunto de a\u00e7\u00f5es que n\u00f3s estamos dificultando que os autores motivados a cometer homic\u00eddios, consigam seu intento\u201d. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Al\u00e9m de Valadares, o balan\u00e7o inclui ocorr\u00eancias nos munic\u00edpios de Alpercata, Capit\u00e3o Andrade, Engenheiro Caldas, Fernandes Tourinho, Frei Inoc\u00eancio, Itanhomi, Marilac, Mathias Lobato, Periquito, Sobr\u00e1lia e Tarumirim. O balan\u00e7o cobre uma popula\u00e7\u00e3o de 361.893 pessoas.
